I'm going to preview a few bits of artwork from Issue 1 and the never before seen Issue 2. What you'll see today is the inks by Steven Howard (i1), Mark Bell (i2) and Adam Whitfield (i2). The next post i'll stick up some completed pages from issue 1. Remember thes images (on this blog) are only JPeg so quality isn't print perfect.

My Comics: The legend known as... [Pt 5]
As you know issue one of ‘The legend known as…’ will be completed by Steven Howard before the end of this month. We’ve decided to reveal the comic to the public during the Small Press Expo (SPExpo) on May 9th 2009 down in Bristol. So for all those who wish top buy a signed copy of Unico Comics first core release then please come over and say hi. The comic will retail for £3.00 and it seems Issue 2 will be out with the next 4-5 months.
Personally I can’t wait, it feels like it’s been bloody ages for this to come out… actually it has. I think we started pencils for this project back in Nov 2007. Thankfully with Mark (Inking and Pencils), Adam (Inking and Pencils), Steve (pencil guides) and Johnnie (Colouring) all doing a ton of work on issue 2 we won’t have to wait another year for the second issue.
I for one will be glad when this is done and dusted for the world to see because I’m sick of asking for updates, sick of telling people when it’ll be out (I’m told by next month) for them to come back in a month to say “so where is it”? Its had good reason for delays but believe me when I say that it will be well worth the wait.

My Comics: Zombies2 [Pt 1]
Early last week Steven Howard (The legend known as… & Unico Collections) received an email from Dave West at Accent UK comics asking for an update on our comic for their Predators anthology. Steve explain that ‘Luftwaffe 46’ was at the basic pencil stage and it would be done well within the deadline for 1st September 09. By the way as soon as Steve (who is busy doing ‘The legend known as…’) is done a completed pencilled page I’ll stick it up on here.
Anyway as I was saying Dave mentioned that he was asking people who are doing Predators or their 2009 release, Westerns if they would like to submit a comic for another future release which will be a sequel to their 2006 release ‘Zombies’.
I love a good zombie, book, film or comic so I jumped at the chance. The only trouble is that it would need to be a new twist on a genre that has seen a million interpretations of the undead. I wanted something that was different and stood out.
The best type of Zombie story are normally the ones where the story is actually about something else and Zombies are the back drop (see Shaun of the Deads, Zom-Rom-Com). So mine would be the world of Video blogging, or more to the fact…idiot blowhard fanboys who decide to tell the world how it should be even when they have all the knowledge of a retarded goldfish.
In my story the main character ‘Wally’ a video blogger with an ego the size of a house and a hardon for Japanese toys is telling the world about a Zombie breakout in his local area. Once the draft images are done I’ll stick them on here.

SPexpo & BICs 2009 [Pt 2]
The tickets for SPEXPO in Bristol have went up. They are £12 per person for the SPEXPO and the BICs 09. I thought we’d list who we’ll be selling alongside in this years event.
