Sponsor Me!!!

Hi all,
I will will be doing an 150 ft abseil off the Newcastle City Council Tower in aid of Cash for Kids. Under the name of Three Birds and a Bloke, we will be setting off at 12:50 on Saturday 23rd May, if anyone wants to come down and cheer or jeer us on. Whether you can be there or not, we would appreciate any donations to the cause.
If anyone would like to sponsor us for our abseil (and please do!), you can either do so in person if you are on site, or via our justgiving page HERE
We also currently have a spare spot open for anyone who would like it - a girl would be preferred to keep the team name intact, but anyone secure enough to be called a bird is more than welcome!
Cheers!
Marie, Michael and Zarah

Bristol's SPexpo 2009
The Small Press Expo (SPexpo) held in Bristol this year saw Unico Comics sell there goods for the first time. We would have all been nervous if it wasn’t for the fact we were still all hung-over from the night before.
The venue was a little different from previous years and all the small pressers were located in the hotel over the road from the main event in the Ramada Hotel. I have to say it was a nice little venue and plenty of room and not the hell pit of heat the normal venue is. It was nice to see everyone else and what they are up to work wise. The level of work was amazing from the other comic publishers. It makes you proud to be part of the small press scene when you see the quality of work being put out there.

We had a very successful day and could not be happier. We sold copies of both Borderliners and Uncle Tickle and we’re stocked that The legend known as… went down very well indeed and got plenty of attention and outsold everything else we had on the table. We learnt a lot of positive things from our first con and will look at how we present our goods for the next one to make us even better.
We’d like to thank Fallen Angel Media for hosting the show this year and to all the great people we met and new friends we made like Willy MJ and his wife who do the remarkable eekeemoo. Also a big thank you to all the people who bought our comics… we hope you enjoy them.
